Although he has gone strong for a lot of years, some people might be downtrodden to discover that Rogers decided to halt his last tour due to complications with his health. He scheduled one last world tour, “The Gambler’s Last Deal,” with various dates set to go up for various venues nationwide. However, he had to cancel after his doctor urged him to.

“His doctors fully expect the outcome to be great,” Rogers’ rep said. “But they have advised him to cancel all performances through the end of the year to focus on recuperation.”

“I’m getting to where I don’t walk around well,” he said. “My mobility is really driving me crazy.”

Just last year, Rogers shared a picture of himself on Instagram after he had skin cancer removed, and he also recommended that his fans should get regular checks.

Although he has not mentioned whether he will organize makeup tours that will help cover the canceled ones, he did say that ‘comeback tours are out of the question.

“That’s always been kind of a rub with me when people retire 10 times,” said Rogers, who is admitted to not spending enough time with his wife and kids. “I’m going out because I need to go out and I’m going to enjoy my time at home with my wife and kids. I’m going to enjoy every moment of it.”

Rogers was born in Houston in 1938 as the fourth son of eight children. From a young age, he loved music. In the 50s, he got into the music world and went from rock n’ roll through psychedelic rock and ended up becoming a pop-country crossover artist in the 70s and 80s. Back in 1957, he had a minor hit known as “That Crazy Feeling”

Although he is majorly affiliated with the country genre, Rogers also has fans who love other music genres. His songs are known to be catchy while also telling a good story.
